Educational purpose
SpellingWords provides supplemental K–5 spelling references, word lists, and practice. It is not a replacement for a teacher's judgment, individualized instruction, a school's adopted curriculum, or professional educational advice. Grade labels are useful starting points, but schools and learners may introduce or revisit spelling concepts at different times.
Reasonable use
You may use the site for personal, family, classroom, tutoring, and homeschool learning. You may share links to public pages and use the site's ordinary browser features with students. These permissions do not transfer ownership of the site or allow republishing substantial portions of its original content as another product or website.
You may not:
- break the law or violate another person's rights through the site;
- probe, bypass, or interfere with site security or normal operation;
- send malicious code or use automation that unreasonably burdens the service;
- misrepresent SpellingWords content as your own product or official school requirement;
- use custom lists or shared links to distribute harmful, unlawful, or private personal information.
Custom word lists and shared links
You are responsible for the words and optional titles you enter. Do not include a child's name, contact details, school information, or other private information. SpellingWords does not review or endorse user-created list content.
Anyone with a complete shared-list link can see and use its contents. You are responsible for deciding what a link contains and who receives it. Shared links are encoded, not encrypted, and are not guaranteed to remain available or compatible forever as browsers and the service change.
Site content and intellectual property
The site's original explanations, curriculum organization, interface, visual design, and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Individual spelling words, general facts, and ideas are not claimed as exclusive property merely because they appear on the site. Third-party material remains the property of its respective owner.
Browser and third-party services
The site depends on browsers, devices, hosting, fonts, and browser speech-synthesis services that SpellingWords does not fully control. Available voices, pronunciation, network behavior, accessibility support, and service availability can vary. External links lead to sites with their own terms and policies.
Availability, changes, and accuracy
SpellingWords may correct, add, remove, or reorganize content and features. The site may sometimes be unavailable, and no particular page, list, shared-link format, or feature is promised permanently.
Reasonable care is taken with educational content, but errors may occur. Pronunciation, dialect, curriculum expectations, and individual learning needs also vary. Parents and educators should use their judgment when deciding whether particular content or practice is appropriate for a learner.
No warranty and reasonable limits
SpellingWords is provided free of charge on an “as available” basis, without a promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every learner or curriculum. To the extent permitted by applicable law, SpellingWords and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of—or inability to use—the site. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the service changes. The current version will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use after an update means the new terms apply to later use of the site.
