1st Grade Themed Spelling Practice
These 5 optional 1st Grade spelling-practice lists use familiar themes and are not a sequence.
Weather, clothing, shape, number, and day-of-the-week words each give a recognizable, real-world context for additional spelling practice alongside Core Spelling and High-Frequency Words.
Where to begin: Choose the theme that matches what a child is currently talking about, reading, or encountering at school — the weather this week, getting dressed, a shape lesson, or the calendar. Each list stands on its own, so there is no required order.
